Major League Soccer Wednesday announced that FC Cincinnati defender Nick Hagglund has been named the 2025 MLS Comeback Player of the Year. The award marks Hagglund’s first major individual MLS honor and the club’s first in the Comeback Player of the Year category.
Hagglund, the Cincinnati native and the only player to have spent all seven MLS seasons with the Orange and Blue, received the honor by earning nearly 35% of the vote among all nominated players for the award. Second-place finisher Richie Laryea of Toronto FC receiver 19.44%.
Max Arfsten had a goal and two assists and Dylan Chambost scored a first-half goal to help the Columbus Crew avoid elimination from the MLS Cup playoffs and beat FC Cincinnati 4-0 in Game 2 of the best-of-three first-round series.
