Detroit All-Star second baseman Gleyber Torres left Saturday’s game against Cleveland in the middle of the first inning after he took an elbow to the head while sliding into second base.

With two outs in the inning, Tigers left fielder Riley Greene bounced a grounder to Guardians second baseman Angel Martinez. Martinez flipped the ball to shortstop Brayan Rocchio—only for Rocchio to fall on Torres elbow-first as he went to the ground.

The Guardians lost their ninth straight game, yielding to the Tigers, 1-0, in front of a near capacity crowd on a warm summer evening. It was the fifth time they’ve been shut out in this losing streak and the 10th time they’ve failed to score a run this season.
