Liam Lawson narrowly avoided disaster after two marshals ran onto the track at the Mexico City Grand Prix – with the F1 driver saying: “I could have killed them.” The New Zealander pitted after the first lap following a collision with Carlos Sainz at turn one, which resulted in debris on track.
Liam Lawson has slammed Carlos Sainz ’s driving after a collision greatly damaged both their cars at the start of Formula 1’s Mexico Grand Prix. The incident happened in Turn 1, after Fernando Alonso tapped the rear of Esteban Ocon ’s car. Sainz swerved left to avoid the slow Haas, but that swerve meant he drove into Lawson’s Racing Bulls.
