The New York Jets traded cornerback Michael Carter II to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver John Metchie III. The teams also swapped late-round 2026 NFL draft picks, with the Jets turning a seventh-rounder into a sixth-rounder. Carter became expendable in recent weeks due to the emergence of Jarvis Brownlee.
Just a few weeks ago, Michael Carter was the lead back for the Arizona Cardinals. On Monday, they released him. It's not a move anyone saw coming. The only healthy RBs remaining on the Arizona roster are Bam Knight and Emari Demercado.
The Cardinals intend to re-sign Carter in the near future, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
The Eagles receive the veteran cornerback and a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
