Russia has deployed 170,000 troops to Donetsk to bolster resources in the battle for Pokrovsk, Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday.

There are still pockets of Ukrainian resistance, and in the north there are "several Russian soldiers." This was stated in the social network X by the military analyst of the German newspaper Bild Julian Repke.

Moscow’s forces infiltrated Pokrovsk after months of attacks on the city, a strategic part of Ukraine’s eastern defenses.

It was supposed to fall more than a year ago, but Pokrovsk is still holding on, even as street fighting has erupted inside the city after Russian troops infiltrated.
