Four people died when a super typhoon hit the Philippines just days after a storm killed hundreds on the islands. Super Typhoon Fung-wong, known locally as Uwan, made landfall on Sunday, forcing the evacuation of 1.4 million people as the storm set off floods and landslides.
A transport disruption warning has been issued for the Philippines as a second major typhoon struck. Super Typhoon Fung-Wong made landfall on Sunday, bringing damaging winds, heavy rainfall and coastal flooding to large parts of Luzon - home to the capital Manila - and the Visayas islands.
A super typhoon which forced over a million people to evacuate has already claimed two lives in the Philippines. Super Typhoon Uwan lashed central and eastern parts of the country today, with heavy rain and strong winds cutting power in large areas of Bicol, with the largest island Luzon also expected to be badly hit.
