After earning eligibility for the postseason, the Washington State Cougars will likely get the chance to play football in the sunshine this holiday season.

The WIAA championship in Washington’s largest classification has come down to the Sumner Spartans (10-3) vs. the Lake Stevens Vikings (13-0). Lake Stevens is the No. 2 seed, and Sumner is No. 5. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, December 6 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.

Washington expects to play Boise State in the 2025 LA Bowl, a source with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Seattle Times Saturday. The game is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. on Dec. 13 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The matchup was first reported by On3’s Brett McMurphy.
