As a troubled year comes to a close at the box office, at least Christmas revenue hit a post-pandemic best thanks to an eclectic mix of films that offered something for everyone, including 'Anaconda,' 'The Housemaid' and faith-based 'David.

Avatar: Fire and Ash” grossed an estimated $88 million over the Christmas long weekend, according to early numbers reported by Hollywood trade publications, for a total of $760 million worldwide as the third installment in James Cameron’s blockbuster series continues with strong numbers for what is usually one of the best weekends of the year at the box office.
