Van Rootselaar, who killed nine others before committing suicide, is suspected by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to have acted alone.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) deputy commissioner Dwayne McDonald said Van Rootselaar had a history of mental health contact with police.
