More than 192,271 votes were cast in early voting around Connecticut and hundreds of thousands more were expected Tuesday.
Democrats made broad gains Tuesday in Connecticut’s first general election since Donald Trump’s return to the White House, flipping open top-of-ballot seats that had been controlled by Republicans in the Democratic cities of New Britain and Norwich and suburbs of Branford and Westport.
More than 192,271 votes were cast in early voting around Connecticut and hundreds of thousands more were expected Tuesday.

They won in major cities where they were expected to win, such as New Haven and Stamford. They won in places where their chances looked a little more uncertain, like Danbury and Norwalk. And they flipped mayor's and first selectmen's offices across the map, including New Britain, Westport, Milford, Norwich, Ellington, Windsor Locks and more.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 4. If the polls close while you're in line, you'll still be able to cast your vote, per Connecticut's voter's bill of rights. You can check online for your voting location at https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx.
