Detroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold is expected to participate in practice Tuesday. Key reserves Malcolm Rodriguez and Daniel Thomas will as well.
ALLEN PARK -- Cornerback Terrion Arnold is closer to returning for the Detroit Lions coming out of the bye week. And the Lions will also see the return of two depth defenders to practice this week.
On the first day back from the bye week, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced Monday the team expects cornerback Terrion Arnold (shoulder), linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez (knee) and safety Daniel Thomas (forearm) to practice this week.
Do the Detroit Lions play today? No, they have a bye week, meaning they are not playing a game during Week 8 of the NFL schedule.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that sources tell him the Lions are activating linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez from injured reserve, and he will begin practicing this week. Known to many in the organization as “Rodrigo,” the key defender has been out of action since tearing his ACL in a Week 13 matchup against the Chicago Bears last season.
With reports swirling that Minnesota is targeting Sunday as McCarthy's potential return date, Campbell said he's preparing for that to be the case.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, 2022 sixth-round pick Malcolm Rodriguez is expected to practice this week, with the expectation he will be officially active against the Philadelphia Eagles. Detroit travels to Lincoln Financial Field in Week 11 for a showdown that will have significant NFC playoff ramifications.
Success of former Lions assistants now head coaches could impact the future job opportunities of current members of the Lions staff.
