Two men convicted of cutting down England's iconic Sycamore Gap tree have admitted their roles as they face several years in prison for the crime.

Two men have been sentenced to four years and three months each in prison for felling a landmark sycamore tree in northern England.

The two men who chopped down Northumberland's Sycamore Gap tree will learn their fate at Newcastle Crown Court today. The pair were found guilty of the "moronic" act during a trial in April and May.
