NEW YORK -- Bo Horvat scored twice, Ilya Sorokin made 33 saves and the New York Islanders delivered the New York Rangers their franchise-worst seventh consecutive home loss to start the season, 5-0 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. The Rangers are 0-6-1 at home and have been shut out five times, including twice in a row.

Every indication from the brilliant start of No. 1 overall pick Matthew Schaefer’s time with the Islanders is that he will play against the Rangers many, many, many times in his career. But Saturday night at Madison Square Garden was the 18-year-old’s first foray into the series.
