The Cleveland Browns had a nice start to the game offensively, but it was all downhill from there. And while the defense held strong for a half, things unraveled in the third quarter for a variety of reasons.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns head into their bye week at 2-6 following a 32-13 blowout loss in Foxborough to Drake Maye and the Patriots on Sunday. Dillon Gabriel struggled in the loss, throwing his first two NFL interceptions and he was also penalized for intentional grounding in the end zone for a safety.
Myles Garrett's five-sack day would normally be hailed as an incredible accomplishment. Instead, the Browns star's feat feels a bit hollow.
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam took to the media to comment on the Browns quarterback situation they have found themselves in through eight weeks. His comments revolved around Dillon Gabriel as the starter, and where the team currently views him and his progress in his first season compared to fellow rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
