The Queens Democratic Party leadership has snubbed one of its own — refusing to endorse Dem city mayoral nominee and borough Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani before Tuesday’s election.

Several European left-wing officials said they had been in contact with members of Zohran Mamdani’s campaign in New York in the hope of emulating his success in future local elections.

Mamdani, the Democratic nominee and favorite to be elected this week as mayor of New York City, is opposed to Israel’s government and existence as a Jewish state and subscribes to democratic socialist politics that are anathema to the RJC’s values.

Jeremy Corbyn, the former UK Labour Party leader expelled from his party over antisemitism allegations, showed support for NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

Victories by Mamdani and centrists in Virginia and New Jersey would be unlikely to settle the path forward.

The group has risen in political clout and has attracted more voters into the fold. But it has also drawn backlash from both major political parties.
