Texas football brought in Matthew Caldwell this offseason in search of experience behind Arch Manning at QB. Now, he could be asked to do more.
With Arch Manning trending to be sidelined during the upcoming Texas Longhorns game, a top weapon on the program delivered a bold message on backup quarterback Matthew Caldwell.
Caldwell found his way to Austin as Texas’ backup quarterback at the last minute. He entered the transfer portal out of Troy during the post-spring transfer window and didn’t commit to Texas until early May, landing with the Longhorns less than four months before the season started.
After hitting the ground during a rushing attempt in their possession during overtime, his head hit the ground, and he was immediately taken out of the game and checked for a concussion, and would not return. So what will it take now for Manning to return under center for the Longhorns?
