That bone is just floating in there doing whatever it wants 😳🩺 No blood supply. No structural connection. Just a bone moving freely under the skin like it has somewhere to be. Avascular necrosis cuts off circulation to the bone and when that happens the tissue dies and the anchoring structures break down completely. The outside of the finger looks completely normal.
